German geospatial-AI company LiveEO has secured €28 million in funding to advance its satellite-based infrastructure monitoring technology, with a strategic focus on European defence applications. The company announced the first tranche of a larger funding round, led by defence-focused venture capital firm Helantic, alongside Nordic Ninja, MMC, and the European Innovation Council (EIC).
The funding will primarily support the development and deployment of LiveEO’s core product, TwinInspector, a satellite data platform designed to monitor and analyze civil infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and energy facilities. However, the company’s strategic pivot marks a significant shift in its target market — moving beyond traditional commercial clients to include European defence agencies and defense contractors.
