Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Bluesight have collaborated to develop an AI-powered solution aimed at simplifying 340B compliance for hospitals. The new system, called Prism, integrates pharmacy and compliance data across multiple platforms, streamlining the complex regulatory requirements that healthcare institutions must navigate.
Prism Assistant for ControlCheck Now Generally Available
Prism Assistant for ControlCheck has now reached general availability, with AWS reporting that it is already operational across 20 health systems. This tool is designed to help hospitals manage the 340B drug pricing program, which allows eligible hospitals and health centers to purchase outpatient drugs at significantly reduced prices. The AI layer automates data collection and analysis, reducing manual effort and minimizing the risk of compliance errors.
Expanding Compliance Coverage
Beyond the initial release, a multi-product agent for 340B Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) compliance is also in development. This expansion indicates a broader vision to cover more aspects of hospital compliance through AI-driven automation. The integration of AI into healthcare compliance not only enhances operational efficiency but also ensures that institutions remain in line with federal regulations, which are increasingly complex and data-intensive.
The collaboration between AWS and Bluesight underscores the growing importance of AI in healthcare administration. As regulatory demands become more intricate, AI tools like Prism are becoming essential for hospitals to maintain compliance while optimizing their operations.
